Smiling At Life

2:42 AMKene Kingsley

Hello People,

Its been a while i made a life post, not because nothing has been going on, but because despite the events of life , I've learnt to smile at life.

Life sometimes comes with its ups and downs, and sometimes these things try to take the essence of living. I learnt of recent that smiling is a form of gratitude. When you are given a gift, you smile.
Smiling at life is just a way of showing how thankful i should be, no matter what the situation that comes.
It also taught me to appreciate the little things of life; Friends, Family, Good Health, Opportunities. Those things that seem infinitesimal and easy to ignore, because at the end of it all, I'm the one enjoying the benefits of all these things.

I've also learnt to appreciate the negative things of life. Illness, pain and losses are some of the most powerful teachers we have that we never know, as they show us a real reflection of ways we need to grow in order to be strong and better individuals in life. They also show us the power we have within us.

And they also show us that life is truly precious.

I've also learnt to count my blessings. A lot of great things happen to us everyday, but we only seem to remember a few, while we remember the dull, unfortunate things that happened to us. That's not our fault, that's the way we are wired, but we can sure overcome it.

That's why it is helpful to get a notebook and jot down these things on a daily, so that in our lowest times we can reflect on past happenings and be inspired to do better.

Life isn't about fantasies in your head- it's what is happening now.! . All the amazing things happening around you.

The rustling of leaves. The smile of friends and family. The laughter of children. The melody of good music.

With all these, I'm sure smiling at life

Are you?

"What you need to do is be thankful
For the life you got, you know what I'm sayin?
Stop lookin' at what you ain't got
And start being thankful for what you do got"
