                                                              Hey Guys,
Long time no playlist...
A couple of months ago, i introduced The Playlist, a page to share my favorite songs and albums, you can check out my last compilation here.

Music is a lot like food and clothes, in the sense that they are areas that one can express themselves and expand on their choices. One's choice of music has a way of defining who they are.

For many who know me well, i love music to a large extent, I'd rather anticipate the latest music album to the latest movie (but i do like movies tho'). Its just the fact that music has a way of influencing one's mood, feelings, and sometimes thoughts.

Without further ado, let's get started...

Coldplay- An Adventure of a Lifetime
Album: A Head Full Of Dreams (2015)

I stated earlier that I'm quite a fan of Coldplay, and I've had this album for a while. The song caught my interest at the just concluded Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016. Its upbeat with the instrumentals and acoustics, that makes you "feel alive again". Its a worthy listen, with great message and cool vibe. You just cant help but love Coldplay with this song.

Emeli Sande- Clown
Album: Our Version of Events (2012)

For many of you who do not know about Emeli Sande, she is a Scottish-Zambian singer and songwriter, prominent with her duo collaboration with Labrinth in "Beneath Your Beautiful". Emeli's songs are more of soulful ballads, with amazing vocals. Clown is a good song for to keep a sad friend up and smiling. Its an amazing listen, if you ask me .

Jessie J- Stand Up
Album: Who You Are (2011)

This song is also one of my favorites. If you can infuse inspirational lyrics with an interesting beat, and awesome vocals, then you've got me all ears. This is what you'd expect from this song and the entire tracks on the Who You Are album. The song goes on about reaching for the stars and living your life like every day is your last. Good stuff..

Jon Bellion- Hand Of God (Outro)
Album: The Human Condition (2016)

Everything about this song is amazing. If you've listened to it, you'd agree with me. The whole ambience of the song was even taken to a whole new level with the vocal choir back-up that gives this song a heavenly feel. The summation of lines from the tracks of the album artistically put together makes this album and this song in particular a winner. Great listen.

Charlie Puth- We Don't Talk Anymore (ft. Selena Gomez)
Album: Nine Track Mind (2016)

I really can't say what caught my attention about this song. Charlie Puth has an amazing voice, and merging with Selena Gomez, as well as a relatable theme made this song a good one. I suggest you see the video to understand the emotion and story behind the song; good stuff..

Solange- Weary
Album: A Seat at The Table (2016)

Being a music artiste, especially when your sister is a big music icon, isn't an easy feat. There will always be that impression of basking in the euphoria of the sister fame, and the fact that Solange defied that stereotype with her not-your-regular-kind of genre makes me appreciate her music and her album. The song Weary has that slow going, soft listening vibe that isn't boring to listen to when compared to other tracks, thus my favorite. Except for the interludes (which were one too many), i think the album is a great one.

Chloe X Halle - Drop
Album: Sugar Symphony (2016)

Chloe and Halle Bailey are two singing sisters who were discovered by Beyonce, when they sang a cover of "Pretty Hurts" in 2013. They also made an appearance in Beyonce's Lemonade album, and served as Beyoncé's opening act for the European leg of The Formation World Tour. Drop was the lead single in the Sugar Symphony album, and i can say they are really good. I'd probably get to listen to other tracks on the album, but this is a good one.

Sia- Fire Meets Gasoline
Album: 1000 Forms of Fear (2014)

You should probably listen to this song to feel the awesomeness. Sia is an amazing singer, no doubt.

Sara Bareilles- I Choose You
Album: The Blessed Unrest (2013)

I love everything about this song; backing vocals, string plucks, lyrics. This is more like the ultimate love song. Would make a great wedding song if you ask me, but i just love how beautifully structured this song turned out to be.

Last, but not the least...

Jidenna- Long Live The Chief
Album: Single (2015)

The "Classic Man" goes a lil gangster on this one, and i'm loving it. I came across this song in the Marvel's Luke Cage series, and one of the episodes had Jidenna performing this song on a stage. The vibe, the energy you get from the song is infectious, with dope lines. This song is a stunner.

ALBUM OF THE MONTH:

JON BELLION : THE HUMAN CONDITION

I had known Jon Bellion to be an amazing songwriter, as he wrote the chorus for Eminem's hit song 'Monster" with Rihanna, and also co-wrote Jason Derulo's 'Trumpets'. One can't help but wonder why Jon Bellion isn't as popular as his work.
The Human Condition album is a 14-track album that shows what it takes to be human from Jon's point of view. The cartoon themed album cover and album art for the tracks tend to give his songs some sort of Disney-like effect to the listener. From the album opener, ' He Is The Same', his songs give that catchy, up-beat vibe.
'Overwhelming' is one of my favorite tracks in the album as it adds the funk to a love song. You will also appreciate the switch-up from the funky, nostalgic 'New York Soul' to the jamming upbeat of 'Guillotine' and to the slow piano led 'Fashion'.
I didn't really feel the story behind '80's Films', because he's a 90's kid trying to create an illusion of the 80s, but hey.!, a good musical arrangement should let it slide.
Hand of God (Outro) was the best way to end the album with the choir back-up that gives the track a heavenly ambience.

Overall, i can say the album was amazing, and a worthy download.

Now that's a wrap for the playlist, watch out for more in the coming months.
