2016: My Style Journey So Far

                                                        Fashion you can buy, but style you possess.
                                         The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years,
                                                            There's no How-To roadmap to style;
                                        Its about self-expression, and above all, attitude. - Iris Apfel

                 Hey guys, how's the countdown to the New Year coming through. Good, i guess?
In my last post, i shared my 2016 Life Journey. Today I'd love to share my journey into style in 2016. Since the inception of my blogging, i had the intention of documenting my style, to be able to watch my style evolve as time goes on, and also document my journey.

The year started with me seeking some sort of direction at which i would follow style-wise, so i made an attempt at Smart Casual

 Time went on, and i had to incorporate my never ending love for denim, trying it with a subtle switch by attempting two different tones of denim.

Still appreciating my love for denim, i took it a notch up by fusing denim and a formal outfit, and i loved the way I pulled it off that gave it a mordern-day dapper style, and at the same time, playing with the colour BLUE

Also, this year, i had to get in touch with ethnicity, and incorporating something African to my staples with the Aso-Oke Cap At first, i thought it was going to look awkward, but hey.!, you never know till you try.

The Fashion Weeks came through, and it was one amazing experience.You can read about my experience with the Fashion Weeks this year here. Still with my new love for Ankara, i switched my formal pants with Ankara pants for the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2016, and went out of my comfort zone with a monochrome jumpsuit from an amazing designer, Invasion L'Afrique for GTB Fashion Weekend 2016.

What other way to end the style journey for the year than to keep it "dapperedly done"

 Now the question is: Which of my style was your favorite this year.? Do sound off in the comments section...

Thank you all for sharing this style journey with me. It was an amazing year of style, and i look forward to sharing more amazing memoirs of my style journey in 2017.

Have an amazing 2017 .

Merci,
Kene' Kingsley.
