Game Of Thrones : Six Locations In The World You Should Know

Game of Thrones is one TV series that is been recognized all over the world, so much that you’d have to be living under a rock to not know (… or have heard) about Game of Thrones. For the ardent fans of the awesome series, it would make more sense to take your GOT cred a notch by knowing, and visiting (if possible) the locations where the scenes were filmed . 



Well, for the 1% of people who don’t know about this series, we’d take a moment to discuss a bit about Game of Thrones. Do I have your permission to proceed with that? I guess that’d be a Yes.


 The Game of Thrones is a thrilling and captivating drama, currently running in its eighth season. Having made its premiere on the 17th of April 2011, the Game of Thrones just had its eighth season releases on the 14th of April 2019.


Other than the drama, the plots, the outfits, and the quotes, one other thing that catches our attention in this series are the mind blowing locations.


 
For a minute, one would think these locations were a product of set construction and computer generated imagery (CGIs); but the truth is.. THESE PLACES ARE AS REAL AS IT GETS.


Here is a list of locations in the world where the movie Game of Thrones is being filmed.

 


– Belfast

– Northern Ireland

– Croatia

– Malta

– Canada

– Morocco

– United States

– Scotland

– Spain


Specifically, here are the locations:

1. THE KING’S LANDING:

  The King’s Landing is the biggest city in Westeros. It is also the capital city of Westeros. The King’s Landing was built by the people called Targaryens, when they refined their enemies’ sword to become The Iron Throne. The King’s Landing was filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia. 

2. FROSTFANG MOUNTAINS : 

 
The Frostfang is a range of tall and jagged mountain, located in the far north of the continent of Westeros. A fragment of the range extends directly into the north. The Frostfang Mountain, which was featured in Seasons One and Two of the series were filmed in Vik, a city in the southern part of Iceland.

3. QARTH :


Qarth is an island found in Lokrum — in the country, Croatia, near the city of Dubvronik. This island played a major role in serving as the backdrop for the city of Qarth, alongside the formation which was used for the House of the Undying in Season 2. Quite a lot of the scenes acted in Qarth are digital.

       4. ARENA OF MEEREEN


The Arena of Meereen is the northernmost city-state of the Slaver’s Bay. Initially, Daenerys close down the fighting pits in Meereen, but the meereenese had the request that she open the venue again. The Arena of Meereen was filmed in Northern Ireland.

5. THE IRON BANK OF BRAAVOS:

The Iron Bank of Braavos is tagged as the richest bank in the whole of Westeros. It regularly gives out loans, money to people who come from the seven kingdoms. The Bank of Braavos was filmed at St. Jacob Cathedral in Sibenik, Croatia.

 

6. ASTAPOR:

Astapor was dubbed “The Red City”. It is the southernmost part of the Slaver’s Bay. It is popularly recognized for the training of The Unsullied, the eunuch slave soldiers. Astapor was filmed in Essaouira, Morocco. 

There are so many other places and locations where the Game of Thrones would be filmed, present and in the nearest future, but in the meantime, that’s a list of the places where the awesome Game of Thrones was filmed.
